2015. By Anastacia Sampson. From the age of 6 all children are entitled to be admitted into pre-school class, known as förskola in Swedish. This introduces children into their formal compulsory schooling. Education for children is compulsory in Sweden, from age 7 into teens years, including the year the child turns 16.
There then follows a presentation of the Labour Market Sys-tem in Sweden and the services provided for those looking for work. In 1842, the Swedish parliament introduced a four-year primary school for children in Sweden, "Folkskola". In 1858 grade 1 and 2 became "Småskola" and children started school at the age of seven. In 1882 two grades were added to "folkskola", grade 5 and 6. The Swedish Education Act ( Skollagen) of 2011 contains basic principles and provisions for compulsory and further education, preschool ( Förskola ), preschool class ( Förskoleklass ), out-of-school care and adult education.
