I've obtained the map for the area and isolated my part specifically on AutoCAD. Now I have a .dwg file which contains the boundaries I want to work with in ArcMap. I was wondering how I can convert this .dwg file into a .shp file to use it as a mask file, with the coordinates and geographic coordinate system, etc. included.
Sequence of Steps with ArcGIS Pro. Step 1. Import the CAD file. As indicated above you must have a .dwg, .dgn or .dxf file, (CAD format), it is selected from the tab map the option Add Data, there the corresponding file is searched.
Drag one or more CAD datasets from the Catalog window into the Input Features text box. Click the Output Geodatabase browse button and navigate to an existing geodatabase.
The geodatabase into which floor plan data will be loaded must already exist and contain required Indoors model items. When using an enterprise geodatabase, the connection file must connect directly to the database, and the connection should be made as a database owner. The input CAD data should be in DWG or DGN format.
Detta transformerades därför i ArcMap via verktyget ”CAD to Geodatabase”. ”Swipe-funktionen” i ArcGIS och upptäcka var stora skillnader i strandlinjen import and export State-of-the-art field mapping tools functions to a wide range of different formats such as ArcGIS geodatabase, shapefile, dxf, dgn, and dwg.

There are several steps to publishing a geodata service to ArcGIS Server using ArcCatalog or the Catalog window in ArcGIS Desktop. 2016-05-05 · Instructions provided describe one method for converting geodatabase feature classes to CAD file formats (DWG or DXF) that include layer names and text entities. Procedure. The process outlined below is performed in ArcMap. Add the geodatabase feature classes to be converted to a new, empty ArcMap session.

When defining the Spatial Reference for the new feature dataset, click the Import button and navigate to the CAD file to import its spatial reference. Create a new annotation feature class inside of the feature dataset. I am experimenting with the CAD to Geodatabase tool in ArcGIS 10. I am taking a single DWG file and attempting to get into an existing geodatabase that I have. When I do this, however, it processes and processes and processes, but nothing comes out.
The conversion itself is fine, however I am also attempting to maintain style, i.e. annotation, colour, etc. I have exposed autocad_color but obviously this is a numeric value, rather than RGB or something ArcGIS Pro can work with.

This tool creates a new feature dataset in an existing geodatabase, which is added as a group layer in the map. This tool creates feature class annotation from CAD text. The input features must be a CAD file. The CAD file will contain all the available homogenous geometries.
