Målgrupp. Students of the Master's programmes in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and in Quantifying changes in biodiversity due to shifts in species ranges. This Master's level course looks in-depth at the multitude of biodiversity, from genes to as well as community-based conservation and ecological restoration. It has three different specialisations: Environment, Communication, and Politics; Ecosystem Management; and Infectious Disease Control.

The MSc in Biodiversity, Conservation and Management aims to provide a critical and conceptually sophisticated understanding of biodiversity science and the socio-economic, political, cultural and institutional contexts within which management and policy decisions are made.

Master of Science in Tropical Ecology and Biodiversity The minimum qualification for admission to MSc. programmes in the Department is a BSc degree with credit of the University of Zambia. Applications by graduates from other recognised universities will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Ecology and Ecosystems (Master) The master's programme Ecology and Ecosystems (MEC) focuses on an understanding of ecosystem processes, as well as of the connection between biodiversity and the functionality of ecosystems.

2021-04-01 The Master's Programme in Biology, specialising in Ecosystems and Aquatic Ecology, adopts a holistic perspective on nature. The focus is on lakes and rivers as well as their physical, chemical and, in particular, biological processes. By studying their interactions, you will become acquainted with how ecosystems work and how humans affect them. The Master's Study Programme addresses ecology and evolutionary biology, which are closely related causally and in terms of content.

As a master’s student you will study how nature works both as an aim in itself (to understand and explain why the world looks like this) as well as to develop the tools to predict and combat problems caused by pollution, biodiversity loss and climate change.
